Designed to enhance converters’ product portfolios, Mactac Performance Adhesives Group announces the launch of a new UV Inkjet semi-gloss paper product.

“UVS9002 fills a gap in many converters’ portfolios,” says Sara Damante, senior marketing manager, Mactac Performance Adhesives. “As the digital and UV space continues to grow, our team recognized a need for additional UV Inkjet products and the launch of this product will deliver great value to converters by increasing efficiencies and improving cost-savings.”

Part of Mactac’s MACjet product line offering, UVS9002 is a 54# brilliant white, high-quality semi-gloss paper stock that is suitable for UV Inkjet print engines, as well as flexo. It is accompanied by a 2.4-mil Super Calendared Kraft (SCK) liner and Mactac’s popular quick-tack 710VHP hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive.

The SCK liner is excellent for die-cutting, stripping, and label dispensing and the well-known permanent, rubber-based 710VHP adhesive offers excellent tack and ultimate adhesion to a variety of surfaces, including polystyrene, polypropylene, polyethylene, paper, and corrugate.

UVS9002 is a versatile label that converts on wider webs at higher speeds than other rubber-based adhesive-coated papers. It is ideal for high-quality inkjet labeling applications in a multitude of segments – from product labeling to VIP labeling – and is also suitable for cold, damp labeling applications.

The product is already approved and qualified on several OEM presses, including:

  • Domino N610i UV press
  • Epson Surepress UV L-6534VW
  • Screen TruePress Jet L350 UV
  • Xeikon PX3000
UVS9002 will be qualified on more OEM presses in the near future, Mactac says.
